KMG subsidiary Kazakhoil Aktobe continues to actively expand production at its fields

Replenishment of the resource base and increased hydrocarbon production remain key priorities for JSC NC KazMunayGas. As part of the implementation of these objectives, a comprehensive production development program is continuing at the Alibekmola and Kozhasay fields in the Aktobe Region.
In 2025, the drilling program at the fields of KMG’s subsidiary, Kazakhoil Aktobe, was resumed after a long-term suspension of new well construction. Prior to the start of operations, a comprehensive set of preparatory studies was carried out, geological and geophysical data and reservoir simulation models were updated, including with due regard to the development of hard-to-recover reserves.

As part of the program, five production wells were drilled: two at the Alibekmola field to a depth of 3,600 meters and three at the Kozhasay field to a depth of 3,800 meters.
The implementation of the program made it possible to produce an additional 18.2 thousand tons of oil. At year-end 2025, Kazakhoil Aktobe achieved an oil production volume of 481 thousand tons.
All work was carried out in strict compliance with the approved technical designs, as well as in accordance with industrial safety and occupational health and safety requirements.

Modern technological solutions were applied during drilling, including a combined drilling method and optimal selection of bottom hole assembly components. As a result of the comprehensive implementation of advanced technologies, the rate of penetration increased by 15–20%, and the quality of casing cementing improved from 70% to 85% compared to 2020 indicators. This made it possible to reduce well construction time and improve the quality of operations in complex geological conditions.
The average construction time for one well was 78 days against a planned target of 90 days. The use of high-quality drilling fluids ensured wellbore stability and helped avoid losses in unconsolidated formations, which in turn accelerated the commissioning of facilities.

— The commissioning of new wells will allow us to increase current oil production volumes. We consistently invest in the development of our resource base, the implementation of modern technologies, and the improvement of field operation efficiency. This creates a solid foundation for further growth and sustainable development of the company, — noted General Director of Kazakhoil Aktobe LLP, Nurseit Soyunov.
